This is an AI project we did in teams (two of us worked on this) as part of our AI class in my fourth and final year of college. We were to create a car's behaviour in the torcs engine that would participate in a destruction derby competition. We decided to use genetic algorithms. This demo shows the start of the behaviour. The cars start with a random behaviour, drive for a while, are rated on their performance and then the best behaviours are crossed with one another (genetic breeding) and they are mutated (with a 5% chance of mutating). Unfortunately my laptop cannot handle too many vehicles so we only use three cars in this video.
