Stop hatin on politicians. They are a product of their circumstances just like most other people. They have to tend to two aspects in order to be successful: politics and public service. Politics rewards the ruthless who can fake an appearance of virtue, while it punishes the truly virtuous. Public service is conducted on the basis of practicability and compromise between the major political factions. High-minded uncompromising idealists are simply unfit for the job of politician in both aspects
