CNN Poll: 49% of Americans think this was a good thing, 40% think it wasn't. Republicans have their own little universe, don't they.

That "rhetoric" is a reflection of what people like him keep drilling into "average people's" skulls.
Shep's trying to be reasonable with a wall.

You're right it isn't just extreme it is also negligent on his part. He should not be fanning the flames of ignorance with "emotional" buzz words like Beck.
-
It's different when these words are used by people who are in such a position of power as Boehner is.
-
Just because some people believe that Armageddon is on its way and that the world will end in 2012 doesn't mean it isn't extreme.
Call it as it is. People calling Bush a Nazi was an example of extreme rhetoric. People calling Obama the same or stating this is the end of times would also be in that category.
Shepard Smith agrees. He is trying to pin down Steele on the overzealous rhetoric used by Republicans. Smith says "Its not good for this country". He is absolutely right. Around one minute mark, he asks Steele about the Rep. Boehner's claim the health care bill is equal to Armageddon. Notice Steele cannot keep a serious face as he dodges the question.
Republicans are obstructionist traitors to the USA. It cannot be denied, Steele.
