The only people who think this is disrespectful are non indians or ones that dont understand the culture. These "swtich dances" are done out of silliness nothing to do with culture so if your offended my comedy then thats a DAMN SHAME....

@Tinyoak2 sorry just had to post another observation....after clicking several names of the negative and "panic posts" I notice at least 90% are caucasion who are getting defensive and calling it disrespectuful. I am scottish not a drop of native (american) blood, but my husband is native and perhaps had I not learned from him I too may have a stand-offish opinion, but please attend a pow wow before forming opinions. They take tradition and honor of the ancestors very seriously.

It's called the Switch dance. Both the men and women do it and it isn't mean to be disrespectful. Unfortunately it's easy to misjudge it when looking in from the outside. Native culture (s) is one of the very few (if not the last) to actually honor the woman as having a very valid place. After all they were the ones to decide ( in some tribes) that decided who went to war since they were the ones making the greatest sacrifice (i.e. husbands, sons, etc).

The Cherokee had "Booger Men", Most tribes had clowns, very often bawdy. Remember the Koshares? This man just doesn't have a mask. Natives were not above having a little fun while dancing. I agree he is not a "switch dancer", but he is certainly funny, and is on the song.. . I can't tolerate intolerance whether you are red, white, black, yellow, or like me a combination of three of the above. Take a break. Doc Cole

lmaoo
gotta agree, seeing how others are always looking for an excuse to make fun of the Native Amercans and their Pow Wows, this can easily be taken out of context. At least do not post it on Youtube.

Well I'm getting alot of mixed reactions here. Some people find it funny, while others just think it to be disrespectful. However, no one yet has mentioned that it's offended them. This video was posted "as-os," meaning that it is just as the event happened and it's not trying to portray the event more to one side that the other. If I hear any reactions from people where they're offended by the posting of this video, then I'll gladly remove it.

Believe me, having been to a few pow wows myself, this was something I definitely was not expecting. I didn't even find myself laughing at first, I was checking out other people's reactions because I initially thought people would be offended at first, but... I guess times change *shrugs*
