Grew up in Maerdy, been in the army for 20yrs and im always proud to say im from Maerdy, love going back from time to time, but i feel gutted seeing the place vanishing bit by bit....streets have gone, the hall, the pit and the hotel......Thank god for video's like this and some good memories.......Hughesy..

My grandparents lived in Maerdy. Thanks for uploading this. If Maerdy Hall belonged to the miners and the villagers of Maerdy then isn't it their land and their right to choose what happens to the site?
The site will probably end up as another home for pensioners.
