Woolworth's, Montague Street, Worthing, four days after closing, recorded on4.1.09.
Today the staff were all made redundant and it was the day the building lost it's Woolworth's identity.
The shop is empty and the building is stripped back to the bare walls.
The video starts in the corner from the kids clothes section, looking towards Montague Street, then turns right towards the side entrance.
Then there is a walk from the side entrance through what was the homeware and music & DVD sections.
Finally a close-up of one of the original pillars without it's modern covering.

  • Today is the 100th anniversary of Woolworth's.

I went in the Worthing store today for the first time since this video was taken.

It has been split into two. The larger portion - recently opened - is H&M.

  • Can't believe it! I remember Woolies in the 80s as a kid pretty well. Very much missed.

  • Not much left is there?

  • sad times
