This new Cholera build is perhaps the funniest sounding thing I've heard from your casts yet. Great stuff.

it is not splitting workers. It is for searching where is the enemy's base, and see enemy's tech-trees.
I think it is not quite different of Warcraft3. War3 players also brings a worker for scouting.

Splitting workers properly at the start only gives you a tiny advantage at the start, allowing you to get buidings/units a few seconds faster. And even that doesn't matter that much unless this was a Proleague game.
