Here is a short clip about my Brother who is an Alcoholic who does want help but cant get it unless we can pay £500 pw or more for a rehab clinic one of the most frustrating things me myself have ever had the misfortune of having to deal with, when you love someone but cant do anything for them.

  • Thanks for all of your comments my heart goes out to everyone with this terrible addiction, alcohol is pure evil I have seen it first hand and what it can do to people, I love my brother with all my heart, my brother managed to stay for 16 weeks and got clean, he is now out but alcohol is still there but thankfully it's not an every day ocurence

  • Thanks for all your comments 5 weeks ago i took my brother on an hour and a half train journey to a rehab house in Weston Super Mare for his assesment, he did not drink to much before he got there as he felt it would be wrong but as a result was in withdrawal and was contantly throwing up in the train toilets and waiting rooms bins, when we finally reached the centre he had a fit and as a result of this they had a bed free and he had funding agreed so they took him in there and then.

  • My brother has been there 5 weeks now and i go to see him on sundays dispite the journey its so worth it to see him looking healthier than i have ever seen him.

It goes to show percy verance and support can pay off in then end, he knows hes always gonna be an alcoholic but just a recovering one, and i feel so blessed that there are people and organisations out there that can help, I love my bro and hope this is the begining of something great for him.

  • Cheers Damo glad someone commented.

  • @Everestlad Hi fella, I only just read this. I want to tell you and all maybe reading . . . I am a recovered alcoholic (Today) and have been for some years. Only a few years ago I was in a mess, either in a binge or moving towards one. I used to drink 1 and 1/2 - 2 bottles of vodka a day. I now run a little business (Signs) and doing fine, nice car nice house too. I had to start from like NOTHING!! For me the answers came, the fog, lifted when I asked God for help. That's all. Blessya!

  • I am an alcoholic. I was in AA for 5 years and it saved my life....BUT. after 5 years I went out, thought I could handel just a few or only on the weekend...WRONG. I have a mental disease and it is scary as hell. I think I am controlling my drinking but I'm not. Thanks for letting me share. This is a powerful video. Much love to yer bro.

  • AA ! There is no other way !!! Alcoholism is 1% about the booze. It is about dealing with life sober. It is a mental illness. Cunning, Baffling, Powerful.!!! Read The Big Book of AA. It is all there. You will identify with the message immediately!! All you have to do is have a desire to stop drinking!! The first drink does the damage!

  • @newfyintoronto im curious, when you started drinking again afte the 3 months off it, what made you go back? and how long did it take once you re-started before you started drinking as heavily as before? Was there at least a 'lag time' where you drank just a little before it went out of control?

  • @Everestlad how is it going? in the same boat...

As much as I try, I feel I'm not getting my point across. Mike, just wanted 2 knw where u went 4 rehab? Maybe u can pass me some helpful info. I really want 2 help my bf, but I can't do it alone.
