The reverend comes home from Soda Springs with the news of a flu epidemic; as the town has no doctor, Michaela rides off to help. Sully can't control the kids and takes a trip into town, where he runs into the Army looking for Dog Soldiers. Sully pleads with Cloud Dancing to try to dissuade the renegades from attacking. Brian asks for a bedtime story. Sully and Brian explore a cave together but come out in the middle of Dog Soldiers attacking railroad builders. Trying to run them off, he is shot by the Army—who then proceed to put a 200 dollar bounty on his head. Brian runs back to town to get Matthew and Robert E., who find Sully unconscious and bleeding. Jake and Hank go out to collect the bounty. Managing to avoid the soldiers in town, Robert E. gives the wagon with Sully hidden inside over to the Reverend, to take somewhere safe. Colleen is faced with the daunting task of taking the bullet out of Sully alone. Matthew goes in search of Cloud Dancing while the Revered goes to town for medical supplies. Unfortunately, Matthew is soon followed by Jake, and Hank spots the Reverend sneaking out of the clinic with supplies. All four men arrive back at the cave at the same time. Everyone is surprised when Hank is subdued by the Reverend. Jake removes the bullet from Sully but nicks an artery, which Colleen must suture closed. Sully regains consciousness and goes to turn himself in; Hank's still after the bounty but is blown off. When Sully comes to town, he makes a speech about his innocence, winning the townspeople over. When the Cavalry arrive, Dorothy and others vouch he was "in town" during the time of the incident and threaten to write about shooting an unarmed man in the back. The episode ends with Dr. Mike returning to town, none the wiser.

  • And Dorothy, "You're not suggesting that the Calvery shot an unarm man in the back!" Tee hee get em Dorothy!

  • @Skydancer1971 Yeah that one line probably saved the whole thing haha if she hadn't said that they would surely have arrested him but it was a major "gotcha" especially with her being a newspaper editor. Probably my favorite Dorothy moment cause a lot of times she just annoyed me *sorry!* haha

  • @ShawDAMAN Why are you saying sorry? LOL if you feel annoyed by a character its great we know they are doing their jobs right?! And OMG when the Rev coldcocked Hank and flipped out Horace when e "Swore" he really had a good time in this one, I have never seen him play a comedic part and the Rev rocked it he should have got more funny get up and go scenes lol instead of being a ninny most the time lol

  • @ShawDAMAN OOPS I ruined who cold cocks Hank.... Dang it! I always do that! Sorry peeps! or can I get away with I Saw-weee as my almost two year old Grandbaby yup that her in the pick says when she does something lol I sooooooooo saw-wee

  • @Skydancer1971 I agree, this is one of the best-written episodes. And yeah Jake and Hank really care about Mike even if you'd have to put them on a rack to get them to admit it. From Jake's reluctantly listening to her and going to her with his alcoholism etc to Hanks asking her for advice on what to do with his son and being so obviously concerned about her when she got shot etc etc. Love the reverend's get-up-and-go in this one too ;-P

  • Haha the Reverend is so unexpectedly awesome in this episode :)

  • Okay, but we all gotta give it to Hank at the end HE can not turn his little sister's MAN in. Just watch really close how Hank and Michaela act through out the seasons, there is a protective brotherly love Hank and Jake have for her. While they do NOT say it, it's there! And Loren is just like her father. Now that is awesome acting when they can all play the parts without saying it and a person can see what the writers are doing!

  • And Colleen to Jake, "Sully saved your life!" feel the burn off that one!
