I can't start explaining how much this video helped me. It showed me all that I searched for. Finally I can do a rest stroke and it sounds great. I've had an even longer thumb nail then you before seeing this video. :-) Thank you so much!

cont....
I've been teaching myself and I've noticed that I have a very "flat" right hand. So much so that I bought a thumb pick, but it felt so odd and foreign that I quit using it!
What say Yea? All tips welcome

haha, whats up bot!?
I too am consulting some of these videos :)
GREAT Vid. Thanks.......! Just one question though. I've "ramped" the nails on my other three fingers, and I'm getting good results. I noticed that you didn't do this with the thumbnail. Can you recommend this at all?
I ask because the "clicking" sound you mentioned (between the flesh and nail contact) is driving me nuts! I'm seriously considering cutting it off completely (not the thumb! ;-) ), and just using the flesh.

@hugglebear69 The first thing to be said is that everybody's hands and nails are different on some way. For example if he tip of the finger is twisted to the right slightly you would not need to "ramp" as much if at all compared to a straight fingertip. The clicking sound might drive you crazy but it doesn't bother me at all. Another difference. As I said, this is only how I do it. Experiment until you find the ideal shape and sound.
Check out this video on nails.
