http://www.reefari.com Honda outboard Motor 150 HP, now owned by Jason for several reliable happy years is taken for a day out, or really it's taken us out for the day out fishing. She's a 150 HP honda outboard engine, with several hundred hours on the clock, and a great motor. Honda's can be a bit dearer than other outboards, but this was a great motor which ran well all day, very economical and quiet. Jason's had no problems or breakdowns which is what you want. The Honda 150HP was on a Mustang Bluewater 2000 Hull, and a great size boat for daytrips to the nearby islands and reefs. It pushed her to a top speed of about 35 knots, and cruised very comfortably 22 to 27 knots, with 25 knots about the most ecomical speed with 2.2 kilometres to the litre. Find some calm water, watch the fuel guage closely, and adjust your trip as well, can make a big difference. You've got to be happy with that, My twin Suzuki's on my charterboat are about four litres to the kilometre. Yamaha and Suzuki's are also great motors as well and would be worth comparing. The 140HP Suzuki is a class leader for Horsepower to weight, bit less horsepower, but they come with a 5 year warranty. Great piece of mind, and I would be repowering every 5 years, and know you've got a great realiable outboard motor.
Was a top day out with Jason and Nick, and even managed an awesome 17 Kilo Spanish, this video coming soon with a great lure review which is well worth seeing.

  • Honda sucks ass, Yamaha is the real deal

  • Yamaha are very good outboards too and I've had a few Yamaha's, Jason's had a very good run with Honda and very happy. I'm running Suzuki at the moment, twin 300HP's

    cheers Greg

  • @Reefari twin 300hp's sounds very good=D I am "loyal" to Yamaha because I have grown up with Yamaha and I have worked alot with Yamaha, and there is very little problems with them. I live in a very expensive country (Norway), so I will have to save up if I want my own boat with lots of HP =D

  • Good luck and Yamaha are definately one of the best, although you do pay a bit more for quality. Boats aren't cheap, and my outboards do use some fuel believe me,

    Cheers Greg

  • @sangolt88 Fucking monsters that don't even have half as much problems as any other engines.

  • @TheAfrobob Heavy four strokes with lack of torque, no thanks

  • @sangolt88 Yamaha all the way baby!

  • @TheAfrobob Evinrude all the way baby!

  • @Reefari Thanks for that 3000 hours? thats heaps, so far its done 420hrs, will keep in mind fishing line etc is the main cause of seal damage and water in the fuel system..anything else that causes water intake?

  • Hard to say, Four stroke outboards should get at least 2 - 3000 hours, and 1000 - 1500 hours out of two strokes. I've almost got 1100 hours up now on my Suzuki's 300 HP's and still running a treat. Make sure you also keep good clean fuel up to your motors and no water, stuff's injectors real quick,

    Cheers Greg

  • @jonrad5 (4 stroke)

  • @Reefari i have a 225 Yamaha 03 outboard, how many hours you reckon you could get out of it regularly serviced and not flogged?
