New Class 378 005 on London Overground

Surprised to see this 378 emu pull into Hampstead Heath station today. Took a short clip inside, didnt want to upset the passengers, then a longer view of the outside at Highbury and Islington. Much roomier and smoother than the 313s, but passengers were moaning about the hard seats, and they were right !!

@liamjb1999 Well this was taken at Highbury & Islington. I live near Broxbourne on the Liverpool St to Cambridge line.

@oggy1953 i do agree with you there with the comfort,maybe just a bit of extra padding would be nice,the new london buses seem to be going the same way,like sitting on plastic/wooden school chairs

@hezmeister Yes the Air con is good, and its a smoother ride than the 313s, But one would have hoped for progress on the comfort front and those seats are uncomfortable for longer journeys. Regards

i quite liked these trains...admittedly they're not as comfortable as the old but i use the london underground quite regularly and they're not much different in terms of comfort.inside the overall atmosphere was a lot nicer due to the "open plan" layout,genrally seem brighter than the old 313's on the line i had,also if i'm not mistaken they have air con which is great in the summer especially with the heat we've had...so i personally think that the positves outweigh the negatives.

@Tzimnewman3 I know what you mean, travelled on one today, but standing room only. Unfortunately i have no alternative route to Hampstead Heath.
