  • Don't watch this video while already pregnant. It makes me want to cry as soon as I hear the music lol

  • I would like to invite a midwife to take a look at One Community. We will be needing your energy, all that you have to offer. You will be nurtured. Type in key words One Community Ranch

    Deepest gratitude,

    Lenora

  • so true this video highlights the life of an on-call Midwife but it is true for those of us working a rotating roster too - we need to learn to say no to double shifts, extra shifts and to take time out for ourselves and our families

  • Beautiful and so ture!!

  • As a student looking at pursuing Midwifery as a career, I'm often thinking of this balance that is always mentioned between work and home. I really want my own family one day and the thought of juggling my passion with my family frightens me so much. This video made me realize that if I want to live a life where I'm doing what I love while still maintaining happy relationships, that is MY decision and MY attitude to take on. Thank you so much.

  • thank you for this

  • I am a new graduate midwife with family obligations and Native American traditional obligations outside of my passion for midwifery and I agree that finding balance between my varies passions is a challenge. When I made the decision to become a midwife I new I would have to make sacrifices but I also feel that I would be expanding my family beyond those in my home to those in my community as well as extending my mother skills. I will continue to hold a sacred space for my community.

  • as an experienced midwife, running a busy practice, what i would add to this conversation is:

    1. charge enough to earn a living and/or pay for your very expensive hobby

    2. read Robert J. Wicks "Bounce" "The Resilient Clinician" or "Overcoming Secondary Stress in Medical and Nursing Practice"

and the video is a bit preachy . . . but I feel your overall positive intent

  • Now you have the chance to thank your midwife, support our campaign!

  • Amazing video! Thank you, Melissa! :)
