PLEASE READ this EPIC description
first of all check out my band, myspace.com/tonightwerise
this is not a tutorial on how to pinch harmonic, if you want to learn how to do it, this is a response to a pinch harmonic tutorial so have a look at that
also read down, ther are some tips on why it might not be working for you!
as i said in the video
just pinch harmonic on an open string, g string is probably the best, and then
wiggle the wammy
for those who want to know more about pinch harmonics....
there are few things things that that ive found affect how well you can do pinch harmonics:
more or less 90% is technique (how you hit with your thumb, where you hit on string) this comes with practice, alot of it!
the other 10% is your equipment
1. you got your tuning, lower you are, tends to be easier to do
e.g i find it easier to do them in drop c or b than in d
2. then you got strings, its a bit harder to do when your strings are old and scummed up
3. string gage, you need the right thickness for your tuning (lower you are thicker you need)
4. distortion, you need the right distortion: - lots of gain and treble but not too much as it makes it sound fuzzy and horrible - with some amps, like marshall mg's, i had the crappy 10w, i just cant do pinch harmonics on them, even with gain and treble on full. this is because when you pinch, you increase the frequency which, inturn, decreases the amplitude (volume) of the string. gain just means how much louder the sound made by the amp is compared to the sound made by the strings. so more gain (at low amplitudes) means you can hear it alot better. so basically, if youve got a classic rock/blues amp, which arent designed with alot of gain, you might want to get an amp with more gain. to check your amp or one you might buy in a shop, you could try just doing natural harmonics, if they dont sound clean and sharp then you know the amp wont do it so its time to start saving or looking for a new amp! i recomend line 6 spiders as i have one and they are very good and cheap!
5. pick-ups, firstly make sure you have the right pick-up selected, your bridge pickup will be the one that will pick up the pinch harmonics the best, this is usually, on most guitars, the pick-up selecter down or to the bridge end of the guitar. also some guitars just dont have good enough pick-ups, that arent very sensetive. these tend to be the cheap ones, stagg, vintage, etc...
if this is the case, either buy a new guitar, you can get fairly decent ones for under £200, not sure about dollars, esp, jackson, epiphone, bc rich etc... or buy some new pickups, either emg actives, or seymor duncans they should do the trick!
i thinks that is about it....
i hope it helped!
please rate and any questions just comment!

@Rockftw1337 well that doesn't even make sense, if this video was such a waste of your time, then why bother watching it? or taking the effort to write a rude, unjustified comment about someone youve never met, you must have a sad little life if it makes you feel good to be a dick to people on the internet...

I play in standard all the time, and I can do pinch harmonics with my strat with Fender Custom Shop '69 strat pickups and Fender Pro Jr. It is not that hard.
