Rush Limbaugh Silenced by Caller

Cathy Talbot tipped us off to an on-air smackdown that transpired today between Rush Limbaugh and one of his callers, who criticized the talk radio host for hurting the Republican party's fortunes and supporting the practice of torture. The caller, Charles, identified himself as a Republican and a veteran, who "really didn't want to see Obama get in office." From there, he let loose, especially on the torture issue, telling Limbaugh, "We're not supposed to be torturing these people. This is not Nazi Germany, Red China, or North Korea." He then added, "I hate to say it...but I think you're a brainwashed Nazi."

This did not go over well, at all! Limbaugh shot back with a brainwashing accusation of his own, and blamed Charles and people like him for Obama winning the election. "I didn't vote for him," Charles protested, "I voted for McCain. I voted Republican." No matter. Rush signed off by saying, "Charles, Barack Obama is president of the United States today because of stupid, ignorant people who think like you do. You pose -- you and your ignorance are the most expensive commodity this country has."

"Arms" is defined as weapons. It is actually short for "firearms". The idea the founders had was if their government got as oppressive as England was they wanted the ability to fight against the tyranny. That is the purpose of the 2nd Amendment, like it or not.

LOL. The 2nd amendment says nothing about automatic weapons or handguns or other stuff like that. It calls for a well-regulated militia and the right to bear arms shall not be infringed. That does not give you the right to own a gun. Wacoans were threatening to overthrow the government because Texas and the south are filled with Nazis. If President Obama did order the IRS, which he didn't, that would get my full support. The republicans are cheats on their taxes and American hating traitors.

They were threatening to overthrow the government. They got what was coming to them because they conspired mass murder. 2nd amendment does not give you the right to own a gun. You distort it beyond recognition. Clinton handled it like a president should. Freedom of speech? President Obama didn't order the IRS you lunatic, and if he did, it would of been good for the country because republicans cheat on taxes. Trial by jury? You're exactly right. That's what I've been telling people all along. The 2nd amendment only allows muskets and whatever else were there in 1775 and 1776.

Since the founders could not hope to win a war without comparable weapons to the British troops, they had muskets, explosives, cannons, etc., just like British soldiers did. If they didn't, they would not have had the power to overthrow the oppressive king. The concept of the second amendment is not obsolete. They didn't specify "musket", instead they specified "arms" because they were well aware that military hardware would advance with time. Millions oppose your assault on the Bill of Rights.

The founding fathers were clear that a well regulated militia has to do with individual rights to own weapons, that is, people who are not part of the standing military. The reason for this is due to the fact that the founders had just fought a revolutionary war with Britain.

His content is a mass of distortions and ignores the section of the 2nd amendment entirely that refers to "a well-regulated militia".

There's nothing in the 2nd amendment that would suggest anyone own anything more powerful than a musket anyway (as militia) & reloading one wouldn't result in mowing down the max number of humans in the shortest amount of time.

The second amendment as written by the founders is obsolete.
