Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair testified for the first time before an inquiry into the UKs involvement in the Iraq war. Hundreds of protesters, including the families of some of the 179 British soldiers who died in Iraq, gathered outside the building in central London where Blair gave evidence. He denied striking a "covert" deal with former US President George Bush a year before the 2003 invasion of Iraq. But many are still unsatisfied with his assertion that going to war was justified.
