Like the title says - final edit... Missing some guitar footage as the battery died in the crane camera halfway through the performance but hopefully it comes together ok.

  • oh ok, wow, makes sense. awesome. If you ever get sick of making millions in hollywood directing, you could always fall back on your editing skills.

    see you at nma

  • Millions... bwah ha ha.. but thanks.. see you there..

  • 1:23 - 1:24... if you're referring to the guitar "not playing anything" listen again - he plays a palm muted riff similar to the drum turnaround - I thought it would make a change from showing the drums every time that beat came along..

  • thanks - moving between guitar and drums in solo was largely a case of not having enough solo footage :p But maybe I would have done something similar anyway? ; )

    First composite mode was a simple transparency, everything after that was a chroma key to something dark - I put a spotlight on the guitar in the underlay footage to make him stand out through the composite...

    Most of the grading was colour balance with contrast, usually some saturation and occasionally an artificial light..

  • is that a luminance or colour bounce for the guitarist in the solo?

  • Brilliantly done, it made me excited.

    There might actually be an alright pass rate and future for the second years next year! haha.

    Three things i like;

    1. The way you used the coverage perfectly, eps in solo.

    2. The 1st compositing effect in the solo, superimposing the drummers movements into the guitarist? Rad, what composite mode did you use?

    3. The way you moved between drums and guitar on guitar solo. they tell us to stay on guitar, but i prefer to see what i can hear!

    1:23-1:24, huh?
