  • @jjovereats My experiment started about 11 PM Friday 4 Nov and ended 11-17 AM Saturday 5 Nov. 12 1/4 hours - blindfolded. I damaged by blindfold along the way, which ended the experiment. I found that if a blind child has sighted parents, the parents will do anything to stop their child doing anything useful to the child - like making a coffee, going to school alone, walking in the Fleming park... IDK what would happen if I went blind for real. I'd probably eMail my school's VI dept about it.

  • Well I have seen four (five?) people at my school who actually have low or no vision. And how they use their canes. Repeating your experiment with a lengthened cripplestick and a bin bag facemask that only covers the eyes and has a hole for the nose, I ran into an number of problems with my room. I found the only motivation to tidy it - that is "what if a blind man wants to hear the sounds of Linux?". If I have to hold his hand in the door and lead him to my seat I will go badonkers.

  • Interesting, interesing...

    Maybe I'll try it someday.

  • your mobility would have been easier if you had used a long cane instead of a walking stick

  • i think it's cool when people do this. they're venturing far from what's safe and comfortable to see what it's like for other people.

Does anyone else notice that in one or two clips the letters on his tee-shirt reverse? (Like 5.40 - 6.00)

  • pretentious rubbish.

  • Hmm that cane isb't long enough, first all, it should atleast by up to the collar bone. Bt you learned somthing, huh? Good for you, alot of sighted don't understand blindness at all.
