It's criticizing the media's trivialization of hurricanes if anything. I don't doubt hurricanes are terrible, but making a relatively tasteful joke shouldn't offend anyone with a decent sense of humour.

HIlarious. Newscasters tell us all to 'hunker down' and 'evacuate' and then they go stand around in the storm. This was a pretty witty send up. I especially like the fact they showed you how it was done.
