Washer implies the Apostles are "tight-spirited theologians". He says, "You need a heavenly vision. And these tight-spirited theologians that say that visions don't exist anymore -- that might explain why their preaching is so boring."

Compare Washer to the "tight-spirited" Apostle Paul. The Apostle says that the Hebrews asked for visions (signs), but that God ONLY USES PREACHING -- not visions or signs.

"For since in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom did not know God, God was pleased through the foolishness of preaching to save the ones believing. And since Jews ask for a SIGN, and Greeks seek wisdom, we, ON THE OTHER HAND, PREACH Christ crucified (truly an offense to Jews, and foolishness to Greeks)"

Washer says, "If you're a Christian you still only have one hope -- that God would gives you eyes to see. ... There's only one thing that will build a fire -- and that is a heavenly vision sent by God."

Washer wants Christians to have four eyes -- we have two eyes on the Gospel and two eyes on the clouds. And if we lack these heavenly visions, then we lack the one hope, according to Washer. So for Washer, our one hope = visions from heaven.


Anyways, I have a question for Washer. Should believers catch as many planes as possible, to maximize their chances of seeing Jesus in the clouds?

Washer says, "Pray that God would show you, what has been done for you."

Wow. Seriously. Washer has no idea what prayer is - hasn't he read that prayer crying "Abba, Father" and "giving thanks"? Now, can you be crying "Abba, Father", when you're uncertain if God is your Abba? Now, how can someone be giving thanks to God when they don't even know what to thank God for? It would be like saying "Thanks Boss for the raise", BEFORE your boss even gave you a raise. Washer wants us to pray for "God to show you, what has been done for you". So Washer denies praying = giving thanks. Haha. This is pathetic. Washer has completely redefined prayer into doubtfully begging God.I can imagine the kind of phrases Washer would want us to use...

"O God, I don't even know whether Christ's blood is sufficient for me or not. Please show me. Did Christ die in vain? Maybe his work on the Cross is a miserable failure? Please show me what you have done for me."

Washer says, "O God, open up the heavens and let me see your glorious Son."

Isn't it unfair that Washer keeps everything secret? Why doesn't he tell us what Jesus looks like? Could it be that Washer hasn't had a vision after all, and he's lying?

He is not saying we need to visually see, what he is saying a revelation, to see the cross clearer, a touch from god, that fire can go out in our lives he saying a touch from god seeing god for who he is holy, that's when the fire falls.

Why would a believer want to cry out to God saying he's a dead stone, a rotten log, this is the complete antithesis of faith. It's saying thanks, Jesus, for dying once for all, bearing the sins of the entire world, but if it's all the same to You I'm still going to consider myself worthless and of no value in a bogus display of FALSE humility. But I guess Washer makes people feel humble, or worthless. Thanks, but I'll go with Colossians 3:12

Wow... the speaker keeps referring to what Washer "always says" but is not found in this quote. I believe I've listened to a great deal of of his sermons. And the points he is making? Washer has agreed with completely, and has in fact preached on these very same things. This sounds more like someone who has a bone to pick with Washer and has too much pride to take it back, so he is on the hunt... Shame.

Does not the psalmist say "Oh TASTE and SEE that the LORD is GOOD." Paul Washer is talking about the experiential nature of true Christianity. Critics would do well to remember the Calvinistic Methodist Church Father's and the Puritan divines before them taught the same truth as Paul Washer. This is experience within the paradigm of Scripture. We need experiential knowledge of Christ. We need His love to be shed abroad in our hearts. The joy unspeakable full of glory!
