Celebrating Larkspur's 100 year birthday, Marin musicians Rita Abrams ("Mill Valley") and Doc Elmo Shropshire ("Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer") wrote "The Larkspur Song."

Says Doc Elmo: "Larkspur resident Brenda McCown asked me to write a song for Larkspur's centennial celebration which they were calling "Meet Me In Larkspur."   Since I can barely write my own name without Rita (Abrams), we got together to write something up tempo that would capture the lovely small town feel of Larkspur. (I had just lived there for 10 years.)  We recorded it in San Rafael with the virtuoso Frank Martin (Whitney Houston, Stevie Winwood, et al.)"
