***The must watch part is at 5:50***

My grandfather, who is now 100, drove truck most of his life in Canada both on highway and off in some of the worst weather conditions and roads you could imagine. My father was also a truck driver that must have traveled at least 6 million kilometers in his career before retiring. I have also worked driving truck for a few years hauling high explosives to road construction companies and mines, but I have mainly done other jobs. None of us has ever had an auto crash or caused one. This is due to the fact that we don't speed, we slow down for road conditions and we pay attention at all times. Now I'm not trying to claim that we are better drivers than anyone else. Accidents can happen to anyone at anytime, even us. But 90% of auto crashes are not accidents. They are due to driver inattention, excessive speeding and not slowing down for road conditions. Most people who engage in these activities while driving will tell you they are good drivers and when they get into a crash 90% will tell you it wasn't their fault.

Car crashes are still the #1 killer of youth aged 13 to 21 years in my home province of British Columbia. Over 3400 men, women and children are killed every single day on the worlds roads while walking, cycling, or driving. They will never return home.

1.3 million people are killed each year worldwide in auto crashes. Another staggering 50 million others are injured each year. Many of these injured need life long health care that often financially ruin whole families. So why do we as a society allow people to use our streets and highways as their personal race track while distracted?

The tragedy is worsened as it is mainly the young and healthy, those in the prime of life and supporting their families, who are killed. The total cost of this is mind boggling, just over half a trillions dollars. And what is the leading cause of auto deaths? - excessive speeding and driver inattention.

Unless action is taken, road crash deaths are predicted to increase by 83% in low and middle-income countries by 2020. 90% of the crashes that occur are preventable. This can be changed by education, better driving training, public input and more police enforcement.

I can't stand it when people say there is nothing can be done about it. I am sick of seeing all the bad driving habits and dangerous drivers every time I am on the road. These are some of the reasons why I made the "Bad Driving Habits" video's for the local TV station. And if I made one person think about how they behave in their vehicle, then I did what I set out to accomplish. I know a few who have changed their driving habits and thanked me for it, so they were not made in vain. I am deeply grateful for the support I have had, both from local and people elsewhere in the world. On the other hand, I never knew it would lead to a group of local kids "The Mall Gang" stalking and harassing me and my family for over 2 years that has now become more frequent and violent.

And for what kids? For speaking out against something that killed 1.3 million people and injured another 50 million last year? Is that why? What a bunch of losers with no life.

  • Thank you Hyphen. I was going to film the aftermath of the crash just down the street tonight, but It's been a long day. It might be on the local news or terracedaily tomorrow. What a @#$%&*! Idiot. I hope he hurt himself. Is that wrong?

I hear people flooring it around town almost everytime I go outside for a smoke. I am making a remote control spike strip soon. I am going to set it for 80 on Eby and see how many get it.

  • Terrace has waay better drivers than rupert thatstuff is minor compaired to p.r drivers. If u think that was speeding in snow there. Watch rupert for a hour.

  • You wont like the drivers here in minnesota either. I'am a truck driver here and folks are just plain oblivious to traffic laws. The rolling stops are kind of harmless though, provided there isn't other traffic involved. My favorite is the ones who queue up behind you at a stop sign, and the first or second behind you blow through the sign after you proceed. The answer is more law enforcement and education. Maybe change liability laws. I think a no brainer would be outlawing the automatic tranny

  • 5:54 see the stop sign NOW you bastard?

  • the drivers in this video make me want to cry....and I can't even drive yet!

  • Bad driving aside - it sure seems to me that this intersection has the wrong priorities. Most of the vehicles seem to be going straight across so why not change the priority and have the stop signs on the approaching road since they have to stop to turn left or right - think of the fuel savings and time that would create by not having to artificially stop most vehicles. - just a thought, since I don't know the intersection.

  • Thats crazy dude! Please take a look @ my growing body of idiot drivers!

  • Apparently even the Police in Terrace don't have to stop... I live in Westbank and it's just as bad here. I think the road-ragers are the people who get tired of watching everyone else not playing by the rules. They say they're going to start cracking down on BC drivers, let's wait and see. And please BC Gov, think about this... if you make it illegal to pass on the right then at least follow through with "illegal to hog passing lane". The two go hand-in-hand don't you think?

  • @MichaelMorbius4ever with drivers like that your safer in a car
