This is my oldest solo banjo composition. I started writing it sometime in the '93 to '95 range. This video contains a number of embellishments not present in the original version, of course, but the core arrangement and melody have always remained the same.

It's made by an innovative banjo builder named Tom Nechville, in Bloomington, MN. This particular neck style is called the "Nuvo". YouTube doesn't allow links in comments, but a Google search for "nechville nuvo" will explain the instrument in detail.

What kind of Banjo is that? From what I can see there's 5 tuning pegs, but there all up on the Banjos head. So is it like a Tenor Banjo with an extra string? :P
