Here is a video showing the best render settings for the YouTube when using the Hauppauge HD PVR and Sony Vegas! Accept no substitutes!!!

*Be sure to capture gameplay using the playstation setting, even if you play on the Xbox. Vegas prefers the m2ts files to mp4. (If you capture using the Xbox setting, , you'll only see the top corner of your video when you drop the video into Vegas.)

* If you are not seeing gameplay in the preview screen of Archsoft, be sure you have updated drivers (link below) and that you have your console set to 720p HD.

*You NEED to use component cables and have an HDTV to capture in HD. There is NO WAY around this.

*Lastly, if your final rendered video looks a tad choppy, change the rendering frame rate to 60fps. This will smooth out the video for first person shooting games ie Call of Duty, Battlefield, Halo etc

  • Alright people, if you are using a hd pvr with the newest drivers from there site you will have problems. it will record and make your files 119 fps, sony vegas or any other program can't handle that. thats why your sony vegas is crashing. .codecguide(.)com/download_kl.htm is where u can download k-light also if ur having other problems, sometimes it fixes it. its also a good player for the m2ts. good luck

  • @jblackmel hey man I got my sony vegas working and I can render now. Getting ready to try to upload a video with how to do it, but I got to figure out how to render now haha

  • @jblackmel I feel you a 100% I was really looking forward to making Youtube videos. I just don't understand how my friends, whose setup's are not as good as mine, can run sony vegas fine.

  • @FigBerg Sure does, so much so, that I'm really considering getting a refund for my Hauppauge. As soon as I try to upload a m2ts file, my Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD 11 crashes. I've tried m2ts, ts, and the Mp4 files and the only one that works is the mp4 but it only shows part of the video in the playback window. I'm totally frustrated and ready to give it up altogether.

  • @jblackmel Thats because if your using the new hd pvr drivers they make all the recordings at 119 fps, and thats what makes vegas crash. u need to go too the site and run get the 5.7 drivers. it says for mac but its a exe and works for windows. if that doesn't work try k-light codec pack

  • @jblackmel does your vegas like freeze up and crash when you use m2ts

  • Why is the preview in arcsoft recording module fuzzy?

  • You say, "Vegas prefers the m2ts files." However, m2ts files doesn't work on my sony vegas AT ALL!!!!!
