Part 1 of this strategy is not really a strategy: it's ALL luck and it's probably just a game glitch. It involves "activating" your dark-step (aka shadowstep, surprise slide, etc). Without activation, all your dark-step attempts will end up being normal sidesteps. As you can see in this video, I tried many times to dark-step, but the boss keeps going at full speed even after sidestepping successfully (i.e. you can hear the sound effect, but the screen never goes dark).

If you want to go straight into successful dark steps, here's a sure fire method if you just started up from a save game:

1. "Return to Santa Destroy"
2. Do some random assassin job
3. Dark step successfully in that mission
4. Finish the mission, head back home
5. Go back to the toilet (save or don't save, doesn't matter)
6. Watch the real ending

Doing this will make your first sidestep a darkstep.

Once you've successfully done a dark-step on his jump slash, he becomes extremely easy to finish off. The next part of that strategy comes in part 2.

  • You can dark step him using the controlstick on his first strike of his combo (to the right).. then again in his crouched cross swing(right) the downward thrust (left darkstep) and the frontflip blow (also left) its has to be perfectly timed...

    Awesome Game.

  • I'd love to see a video of this. For the life of me, I could not get the control stick to do anything against him on Bitter difficulty. So, I just fell back to using the control pad to sidestep until the darkstep kicked in. As you can see in Part 2, I could darkstep in whatever direction I wanted to after the "activation" occured.

Sidestepping without the darkstep was so much fun because it felt like I was part of the Matrix.

  • this boss is such a pain in the ass on bitter i just beat him it took me 20 MINS

  • Henry is one boss who I will never be able to defeat. That is why he is awesome.

  • @OblivionEssence Very sad, considering it no longer mentions that in the video description, haha. But I am replying to you 2 minutes after you replied to my comment that I made 3 years ago. So, don’t feel too bad.

  • @Johnnymushio I know you made this comment years ago, but is it sad that I recognize your username, Mr. 9001? <_<

  • @darkhedgehog45678 You have to get all the beam katana. Then after you beat the game I think you return to Santa Destroy, and gather the money to fight henry, ( I Think 744,000LB$) THEN choose the real ending and youl be able to fight Sir Henry MotherFucker.

  • so how do i reface henry?

  • @darkhedgehog45678 Get all 3 swords

  • how do u unlock this fight?

beating the game on bitter mode?

  • shit man!! why didn't i choose "real ending" the first time when it was still mild difficulty?!?! I'm never gonna beat this guy!!! I get to like 500 hits! Plus, do you have to fight with the mk-III? i prefer the mk-II cause i SWEAR it does more damage!

  • Darkstep helps with my fight with this a lot. That and half the fight doing low charges. I can probably beat him with the just the side step but some of the time when the swords lock on to each other(it be funny if they twist together) I lose the fight even though it looked like I won. Another problem was after I sidestep and he hit me, I lock up. Travis can not move. So I get hit by the last attack of his combo. I did break out once in a while but I already been hit a few times.
