Terror on the Midway is the ninth of the seventeen animated Technicolor short films based upon the DC Comics character of Superman, originally created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. This animated short was the final production for the Fleischer Studios, which was reincorporated as Famous Studios at the time. The first Famous Studios cartoon was released three weeks before. The nine-minute short features Superman attempting to stop the chaos created when several circus animals escape their cages and restraints, including a giant ape. It was originally released on August 28, 1942 by Paramount Pictures.

  • the gorila becomes smaller near the end,and is almost the size of superman himself in the funal appearance, strange, but still an excellent film.

  • This is like the darkest Superman cartoon I've ever watched.

  • Superman vs "King Kong"

  • This one kind of gave me nightmares the first time i watched it on Boomerang.

  • LOL! I love how three 10000 lb elephants ran scared from one 500 lb gorilla, definitely a king kong feel to it.

  • The animation and art direction on these old Superman cartoons is bloody amazing. Blows a lot of modern stuff out the water.

  • Ahhh....I feel very nostalgic ... :)) Thanks for upload..
