  • @purvicide I like them both. White Crosses seems to be bashed a lot, as though it were some kind of sell-out. It's not. But I have seen that with band after band my 40+ years of listening-there are always some fans who have been "with" a band since the early days who become disgruntled when the band changes things up a little. And it really is just a little different-WC is undeniably Against Me! That's all I am saying.

  • 2:00 EPIC FUCKING BREAKDOWN

  • @CelticMisfit In conclusion, Black Crosses > White Crosses.

  • @purvicide I think White Crosses is one of their best. It may not have the "edginess" of some of their others, but bands grow & these songs are still finely crafted. I am old enough to have experienced original old school punk while it was being made in the late 70s and 80s. Against Me! has the same energy & feel , be it their first stuff or this latest one. They are one of my favorite bands. A lot of people come down hard on White Crosses, but honestly I just don't get that. But it's all good.

  • It is alot like The Clash! Others by Against Me remind me of Social Distortion too. All three bands are among my faves of all time!

  • @Caityscreamsout Thanks, chief. I just can't stand the "arena" sound of WC for it's too much of a departure of Against Me!'s edginess. Also, I don't like the idea of someone in his late twenties/early thirties singing about his teenage years. It's silly. Black Crosses seems closer to the real Against Me!

  • @purvicide No other renamed ones; just stuff they played live that didn't make it on the album like Lehigh Acres etc, a couple new ones, acoustic or alternate versions of white crosses songs and stuff from their eps like One by One. As for White Crosses, it grew on me, give it another shot!

  • Okay, so this was "Suffocation" on the original White Crosses, but since I don't have the stomach to listen to White Crosses for too long, can anyone tell me if other songs from that album are renamed for the Black Crosses release?
