Donal Hinely playing the Glass Harmonium. That would be glasses filled with water to make the notes he wants. Many will know this song by A.G. & P.S. This was filmed at the Scarborough Renaissance Festival on April 8th, 2007

  • Scarborough fair?

  • loved it *.*

  • beautiful.

  • This is simply "Jaltarang" an Indian instrument :D

  • he´s actually playing a "glasharp". The Glasarmonica has bodies of glass rotating round an axis.

  • yes that is correct, the tuned crystal on a spindle, this is the precurser to it, playing glasses.

A harmonium is a type of reed organ played by continuously feed air from bellows usualy. Like an accordian.

  • The Glass Armonica you mean was invented by Franklin and is practically a Row of specially formed glasses on a Stick that you can rotate (via pedal or motor). This is no Armonica, "just glasses".

Great Music though and a shame that its so rare.

  • awesome

  • first of all that is not harmonium, second it is playing a glass armonica and third the insterment itself is rare

  • You Rock Donal...
