@ArabsStank Your comment inspired me not to join this thank you. lol I'm sorry I can't say that with a straight face, you need to learn some respect, these people are fighting for our freedom wether you think so or not it does not matter if there only doing it part time or 24/7 they still are. theres no such thing as a "PUSSY ASS BRANCH" in the military, and I'm sure you've a fended others by your comment as much as it has me.Respect the military respect your country and others decisions.

@appleopps No they still do, The M9 has been around since the mid 1980's. Granted it ain't used that often, but they still train you. The USMC replaced its M7 with the OKC-3S at the begining of the new century.

Why do they have national guard when they have the reserves, and when they can use local reserve units (at armories or drill halls whatever you call it) to respond to natural disasters and emergencies.
To understand what the National Guard is you need to know U.S. history. The National Guard both Air force and Army are the military forces of the individual states or individual countries. The U.S. has 50 sovereign states/countries each with their own government,laws history,cultre,constitutions.ect..ect.. It We are joined together in a Union. This union is bound together by the U.S. constitution. When the Federal Gov. needs extra troops it will sometime ask the states to send some.

I woke up this morning considering joining the Guard just for the benefits while I'm in school then going Marines. 90 seconds into this video, I decided to cut the bullshit out of that plan.
