ok...here's an update...this is the 4th mov't of the same Sonata I played before. This past spring I performed all but the last mov't in a recital...this recording was taken at my dad's appartment at the beginning of the summer. Sorry, I messed up a little at the end...it goes at a quarter note = 600-640...sooo...yeah, pretty fast...um and I'm also sorry about the intonation...I know I didn't quite hit um...a couple chords...lol...oh well, i had fun playing it...

  • thanks unonotabene! yeah...I was on a crappy instrument, but still I totally agree, I could have done alot more for sound quality...at the same time, within the movement title, hindemith even notes that "tone is not of imporantance"....however, I think what Fiddlerfrank said about bringing out the harmonic shapes would have been better. Thank you so much for your comment! glad you liked it!

  • lol! yeah it's opus 25 number 1. Enjoy!

  • love your playing! you have so much power and yea you have a nice viola.;)

  • crazy piece.

    hindemith is awesome.

    nice job.

so, your page said you were a senior.

    have you graduated?

or are you preparing for auditions?

i am going to be a senior.. and preparing for auditions.

  • You didn't make many mistakes which is very good. Perhaps better sound quality and the tempo is no where near the speed it should be... BUT Fantastic WORK!

  • hey I'm sorry for the bad commentary

  • HEY! Nice work! You've really got a good feel for the spirit of the piece. One suggestion I would have would be to bring out the harmonic shapes with slight emphasis or tenuto to contrast the pedal C. Very fine work, Aspen. Brava!!!!

  • TOTALLY BAD ASS!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you remember the number of the sonata and opus number? I bought a Hindemith sonata a while back, but it is the wrong one. It's still an awesome piece, but I wanted to buy that one.
