Thanks for the input on the pups. Just checked out your thread on wwp. Chechen was an interesting choice for the fingerboard you don't see much. Again, good work!

Thanks! I really like the sound of them, I basically use the loudmouth (bridge) most. To me the pups sound slightly vintage with a lot of crunch. Nice harmonics and tone. A little hot clean but I havent tried totally clean from the amps clean channel. The remind me of "Accept" from the '80s.

hate it when ppl play through an amazing amp and i have to figure out if thel sound good through my amp lol

@rabbitddog I know what you mean...one of the pickup co. sites has sound clips of each pickup from an actual recording. There's probably 10 effects/processors on that. Lets hear that same pickup on a 15watt fender frontman amp!!!!! The mesa boogie I'm playing on is a real monster amp....this one was actually special built by mesa for Metallica to try out and possibly order back around the early 1990's..

i'm lookin for pickups that will give me a metallica sound like on their album kill em all, but all the ones i found in this price range are over the top (output wise). these bigmouths sound good and chunky, let me know if you think that this is a good fit

@metzepp I think for the price they are worth a shot. If you're not happy you could ebay them and get something else. What you hear on an album is way more than pups,,like effects, amps,processors..etc. I'm playing on a mesa boogie dual rectifier that was actually built for metallica to try out and order if they liked it. Also check out Rockfield pickups..they have sound bites (cost is a little more though).
