John Snowden scored the third hat trick in the last seven Bloomington PrairieThunder games to lead the team to a 5-2 victory over Flint before 2,849 people Saturday, April 3 at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum in International Hockey League action.
The victory moved the PrairieThunders record to 31-29-4-6 and tied the club record for most wins in its four-year history. It also pushed Bloomington seven points ahead of Flint for the fourth and final spot in the postseason playoffs.
Also, scoring goals for the PrairieThunder were Jon Booras and Craig Macdonald, who both had three assists. Andrew Martin earned the win in net for the PrairieThunder, 24 of 26 shots.
It was also Kirbies Thunder Night in honor of Kirbie Brittain, who passed away a few years ago from heart disease. The Friends of Kirbie group raised money for the SLCH Camp Rhythm, Give Kid's the World and the Friends of Kirbie.
