To think that Tinker Owens or any WR could have made two-time All-American on a wishbone team is amazing......this was my favorite of all the OU teams I watched growing up in Oklahoma.....
-
Ricky Leach......the guts and glue of the Maize and Blue!
-
Watching either team trying to pass the ball was tough back then, the passing
game was not there strong suit.
-
What a great video! As a Michigan fan, I like how it shows an equal amount of both Michigan and Oklahoma. Well done.

Love seeing how unsophisticated the pass offenses are and how sophisticated the run games are. Look how far apart the hashes are compared to the pros.

Awesome. I will never forget growing up in OK in the early and mid 1970s, driving from OKC down to Norman to watch the Sooners. Great times.

Man those were the days in Oklahoma. I was 11 when this game was played, I still remember the whole afternoon. Great times. The Selmon brothers, Jimbo Elrod, Tinker Owens. Wasn;t this the year we kicked Tony Dorsett and Pitt's ass in Norman? Love seeing the old triple option, it was a thing of beauty.

I was a huge Wolverine fan back then. I remember Leach getting Knocked out. Gordy Bell,Rob Lytle...later on Harlyn Huckeby...but now it's ALL SEC baby!

I love to see the wishbone triple option at work. Those were the days. Michigan's offense has 3rd and 9 yards to go, what do you call? A bootleg option for a 1st down! Wish we still had that diversity of offensive styles today. A pro passing attack vs. option running team was always an interesting contrast in styles. Enjoyed watching thanks for posting!
