HP Pavilion DV6000 - Fix sound / QuickPlay / Power Button Problem

Note: Annotations seems to work only for YouTube Flash version, if you have HTML5 enabled, turn it of to 'understand' the video.

Here i show you how to fix this problem, you need a KOTL E220709 (Arround 7USD on Ebay).

- If your power button is not working, your sound should be off too, you can move the right kolt to left and fix the power button and sound. If you need the QuickPlay, get a new Kolt and change it.

My power button was fine since I changed the KOLT from QP to get Power&Sound working (I need a new Kolt to repair the QuickPlay). Hope this help, rate and suscribe if worked for you! :-)

i got an hp pavillion dv6, and i got a problem, my pc makes very much sound when ii run something on it, and i get also gets hot unde it, not just hot but realy hot like it hurts if get near it ( under the psc were the battery is) please explain why and how i can fix it.

I have a friend, who asked me to fix his power button, changed the wires, power button works now and quick play works as well, which surprised me. Thank u for the guide though.

@MEGAlozer100 I just fixed that problem. My dv6 is now really quite and "cold" (speedfan shows around 30°C for the CPU and 45°C for the GPU) and it's 5 years old!

Thanks i switched cables and now Quickplay buttons dont work but power on button worksfine.

hey man, my laptop my screen its ok, but the sound, dont. i have formatted my laptop 2 times and the only thing that doesnt work is the sound, i´ve installed the driver and seems ok but i dont hear anything, might this be the problem ??..

Damn, notebook corps are morons! Why can't they use NON-UNIC cables? Damn I can't find this cable in Moscow. What the fuck? It's just 12 wires and nothing else. The biggest problem with contactors - THERE'S NO CONTACTORS on this cable, just bare wires on both sides... -.-

@xbl00df0rcex Try to check sound with headphones. If it works, maybe trouble with KOTL1 cable. I have the same problem, but this ribbon cable is so weak, mine just broke up, so i'm going to find same cable or do it myself!
