An awaited feature at the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival this year, Yoo-Hoo, Mrs. Goldberg premiered at the Castro Theater tributing the Jewish-American broadcast icon, Gertrude Berg.

Film critic Bonnie Steiger interviews Aviva Kempner on her experience documenting the woman behind the character that Wartime America remembers as Molly Goldberg.

  • I wish all the programs were available- loved Molly. Remember her from radio!! Ah- dem was da days.

  • I'm in my 65th year...and yes, I remember Mrs. Goldberg..My Grandmother, who was an immigrant but loved America and I can say reminded me of Gertrude Berg..as my Grandmother would say "She's one of Us" and a true American...

  • Nostalgia at its best.....my favorite of all shows at the time...

    Go Molly!

  • I also love Gertrude Berg and her Molly Goldberg character. What is sweeter and more lovely than a wise, kind, loving Yiddishe Mama?

  • I wish she were alive today so I could hug her. I LOVE MOLLY GOLDBERG!
