Myth of Zeus & Io--Animated

This is my animated version of the Greek myth of the Zeus-Io affair. I made this for my 5th hour Short Story class.

When I read the original myth Zeus really seduced/went after Io....and I thought....who better than Barry White.

For the design of the characters, I wanted to do the Al Hirshfeld one continous line and thick and thin lines. I think that turned out pretty well. This was really the first time I had drawn females. I designed Io first, and then it took me about a week to come up with the design of Hera. Designing the two girls was probably the hardest part of the project. For the backgrounds, I wanted the simple looney toons sort of look.

This animation was a combination of hand painted 2-D cells and stop-motion animation. The editing was the only thing done on the computer.

Took around 30-35 hours.
