Marilyn Martin was one of those wonderful underrated singers of the 80's. Another singer that comes to mind is Stevie Woods.

This version doesn't stand a chance with Phyllis Nelson's Move Closer. Phyllis couldn't have the looks of Marilyn but her singing comes from the soul. Give her a try and judges for yourselves.

Wow ! I always loved this ballad. It sure brings back a lot of memories ! Her debut album should have done better. She sure had a great and expressive voice. She's a real estate agent now, BTW !

Lovely, really lovely - smooth and romantic. I have a feeling that Phyllis Nelson would have been very happy with this version of her beautiful song. It's a credit to her memory.

One of my favorites from Marilyn's 1st album. One other tidbit about Marilyn's studio work is that if you listen closely to Kenny Loggins' "Love Will Follow" on the Vox Humana album, she's also singing background vocals at the end of that song, too.
