Washington shocks Nebraska and the officiating crews in the Kansas State and Syracuse game basically take it upon themselves to decide the outcome.

In case you didn't see it, in a wild finish to a superb game played at Yankee Stadium, no less, Kansas State wide receiver Adrian Hilburn drew a flag for a razor sharp, quick quick salute to the crowd after scoring a touchdown with 1:13 to play that pulled the Wildcats within 36-34 of Syracuse.

Did a routine post-TD salute really cost K-State a Pinstripe comeback?

Syracuse 36, Kansas State 34. All things considered, Kansas State and Syracuse probably gave us the most entertaining game of a tepid bowl season this afternoon, across the board. The offenses combined for 70 points, 888 total yards and four second half lead changes. Syracuse running back Delone Carter and receiver Marcus Sales delivered career performances, racking up 371 yards and five touchdowns between them. Neither team turned the ball over. There were at least two hilarious moments involving officials, and at least one player suffered a minor injury while over-enthusiastically celebrating a minor success.

Thanx 4 makin' me smile - - - the hypocrisy of the call after the plethora of non-calls the entire game has me pretty jammed about the game - - - but your take w/ the "excessive gatorade" brings me back to earth...life will go on (and the joke will be on the crew chief, side judge, & back judge most of all...they'll be excessively remembered for excessive hypocrisy) . . . thanx!

What do you mean "they would've won if the ref didn't throw the flag"? Even if they didn't get penalized and scored the 2 points......it would've only tied the game. Agree it was a stupid horrible call.
