In 2012 Chinese New Year falls on 23 February and the Mayor is backing London's celebrations which take place in Trafalgar Square and Chinatown on Sunday 29 January.

The most important festival in the Chinese calendar, this year's festivities mark the start of the Year of the Dragon and are one of the largest outside China. As we head towards the Olympic and Paralympic Games, this Sunday's event kicks off a year of events and celebrations in every corner of the capital and a Summer like No Other. www.molpresents.com

  • @FredericaBimble i live in london son, I have eyes . I don't believe and listen to the BS the government liars tell me.

    :)

  • @FILMMAKERCHAP - Then, you'll need to make sure you vote on 3 May then. I think Boris has done an excellent job and he cares about London.

  • @sweetypie000 - whatever - you're just looking for reasons to moan and I'd be willing to bet you haven't gone to any of the tow meetings nor done any research. You're just regurgitating what some tabloid has told you and how you're meant to feel about it. Try doing insteading of moaning for a change.

  • @sweetypie000 - You can't moan about your world when you're the one creating it. Talk about playing the victim! As for the Mayor, Boris has done alot for London and he genuinely does care about the city and wants to see good things for it. Try being a bit more positive and then watch how your life unfolds. By the way, this country hasn't 'become' anything. It is the result of people just like you. You don't want to see it so 'sad' then stop adding to it and offer us happiness.

  • "In 2012 Chinese New Year falls on 23 February " - you mean 23 January

  • kung hei fat choy to you aswell boris johnson!

  • @FILMMAKERCHAP Tey do what they want. Don't hold your breath. It is pitiful in this whole country we have 2 people in the running who are proven to have done naff-all for the capital for the man in the street.

Sad, sad country this has become

  • Natrually, China own Threadneedle Steet.

And what is it with Ken Livingstone in the running for Mayor ? What London dosen't need is two proven non-doers in the running - the current Mayor and some who introduced another tax on the poor the London congestion charge

I'd stick Boris in the stocks for his failures and Ken with him for the audacity of wanting to give us old laundry.

Trouble is their plans have worked - we are kept too busy with tax to care I suppose - the plan they want

  • 快樂的龍年 Happy Dragon Year - 龍飄飄 Loong Piau Piau

  • please dont let it become the year of the commie by letting Livingstone back in
