  • @IEatCows Of course you are. all females ive talked to dont listen either way and will get it because it "looks nice" or is "cute" wastin their money and my time. But not everyone listens to people who know, Mine was more expensive because i bought other things with it because i know what im doing. It would be smartest to wait till you know how to use it without a doubt or till after February when companies debut new versions/products but i however cant :(

  • @IEatCows I'm buying it for under $600 and believe I have the skills to get the full use out of it. Thanks for your opinion but I'm probably still going to get one. (:

  • @IEatCows So basically you don't recommend it then? after saying that you would...

  • @MySweetWish Also Don't forget that there will be many somewhat nice looking compact sort of cameras like this and they will all cost alot. your safer sticking with a nice point and click for cheaper :)

  • @MySweetWish well if you, or anyone like it because of it's looks.... DONT get it. It's an $700-$900 investment and if you dont know much about them or dont have a few classes or training under your belt its honestly a waste because you wont be able to utilize it properly. Reading wont do much for you tbh. I'd recommend a digital cam with high MP. Even though its in a lot MP dont matter. It does the work for you to get an okay picture. You can still achieve good results :)

  • @MySweetWish (...continued) I was sold on it when I saw the images that it produced, sample images on the nikon website AND flickr were so stunningly clear. I love the crisp look of photos.

Would you recommend this for someone like me?

  • @IEatCows So you'd only recommend this for someone who knows about ISO settings and shutter speed and all that right?

Well I'm upgrading from a very old canon point and shoot so I think this will be the perfect candidate, I also have a little knowledge about cameras and plan to read up on it to get the full use out of it. I have done my reading but the aesthetic aspect of it is a real seller too.

I plan to use it for travel and fashion photography {since I am a fashion student} (...)

  • @IEatCows Most people who have asked me in person or otherwise ask because they like the look of it. Most people think of it LIKE a point a click because they don;t know much about photography in that case DO NOT buy it, just buy some point and click. I had one man ask about it for his wife because she wanted it because it looked "cute" and she wanted to take pics of their toddler i tried to now laugh a bit but i said dont buy her this is expensive, buy her some jewelry :)

  • @MySweetWish I would. I will say honestly my purchases are based on MY needs. I have been into photography for wuite some time and ive seen MANY campaigns and new releases. So that has NOTHING to do with my choices. But i enjoy the compactnature of this. Similar to that of a point a click but the more complex capabilities of a DSLR I like to be able to control my ISO, Apature and shutter speeds but if your looking at it because it LOOKS sexy. DON'T get it.

  • Would you recommend this camera?
