  • The 'red' water is a colouring agent. During the moult while the birds are replacing their old feathers with new ones it is possible to influence the colour of the feathers with colouring agents. Red or brown feathers can be made to exhibit a much richer hue by the use of, 'carophyl red', a colouring agent used by zoos to enhance the colour of birds such as Flamingoes.

  • Why is their water red? is it medicine?
