If we were allowed to use one number for all devices, then the problem would be the fact two users can't simultaneously log into two different devices that have the same number.
For example, I can let my wife use the nTouch PC when she goes out of town. We can then communicate with her using the nTouch PC and me using the VP-200 at home.

The Trainer has to install it himself because if anyone was allowed to freely download the program, then the hearing community would able to, too. That would violate the FCC's rules, IMHO. I don't think Sorenson wants invest in users that won't use its VRS services anyway.

Ntouch is really nice but I think it is stupid for trainer to come to house to install it. You know we all can download it from sorenson. What's everybody's opinion?

That would be cool.
Unfortunately, FCC requires an unique phone number for EACH device / software. Maybe someday the policy will change. :)

nTouch seems to not support that feature yet.
However, FYI, there are other software that can supports text chat.
