Ill be picking mine up in a few days! Only the shop im gettin it from has customs from martin. The one im gettin has an adirondack top and gold machine tuners. Pretty friggin sweet!
I strongly recommend the hd28 as a guitar. I tried lots of guitars before I bought mine; taylors, guild,takamine and other martins. I find it to be very well suited to finger picking. I do think that it benefits from a softer touch. If you hit the strings hard then the low end can sound muddy. If played right, this guitar sounds absolutely phenomenal. Do try as many different guitars as possible. D18, D35, D28 and HD35 are all excellent. It's all about finding the right one.
@godhotbod Its good for anything. I would not put anything in that guitar i would not anything put in side. I would just mic it guitars sound better that way any how. Or just buy a soundhole/drop in pick up.
excuse the out topic .. but you look a bit like george clooney :D

@bluegrasssingingman It is not a HD-28

That is a HD28v. It has prewar shifted bracing, and open geared tuning keys,

Actually, I think that's an HD-28V. The HD-28 does not have the long saddle, but the HD-28V does.

Sounds wonderful, and so glad you did some fingerpicking as well, too many poeple on youtube make acoustics sound like crap.

Are sound hole drop in pick ups good? I hear they are from some people then they are not from others.
