@papawheelie81 It's a song about the wish for unconditional love, which you will get from your dog if you love him, which you won't no matter how hard you try with your wife. It's meant to be a fun/funny song. While there is truth in it, no one expects you to treat your wife like a dog and if that's all you thought when you heard the song, well i feel sorry for your lack of humor. :(
