    I assume that you are talkin about Duane Allman who suggested the opening riff, but did not create the riff himself. The riff is from and old Albert King song-As the Years Go Passing By. Clapton and Jim Gordon wrote the song, though, so, yeah, Eric did kinda make the fuckin music.
