@SilenNex2114 When the Japanese attacked the Yorktown and the Lexington, there was little/no American Fighter cover as they had all been sent to escort the dive bombers who were concurrently attacking the Shokaku and the Zuikaku. Thus, due to the lack of fighters, SBD Dauntless Dive bombers were sent as a desperate measure to substitute the lack of fighters

Looks like someone completely changed history! Instead of having the Lexington blownup by the Japs, we sink their Shokaku and Zuikaku in this scenario, thus when the Battle of Midway does somewhat occur like OTL, Kido Butai is therefore and essentially finished.

Why, an SBD daunless was a superb dive bomber, why use it as a fighter?  Ive never played this, so i bet theres a reason, but still, really?
