This was the first time I learned how commercials can Lie to you. I distinctly remember watching this commercial when I was 8 and begging mom to buy this ceeal for me. I wanted to feel groovy (whatever that was). I ate 3 whole bowls of the stuff and didnt feel a bit groovy! They LIE! Lol!
I remember the basketball commercial cause it was filmed at the park near to my home, but I thought it had this same jingle? At any rate, I'd love to have a copy of it, too! This was the best Cheerios campaign of all time.
In another commercial, made earlier than this one, Cheerios did use the 59th Street Bridge Song - Feelin' Groovy. It showed a kid playing basketball and was really memorable - I was actually searching for that commercial.
That's Jimmy Griffin (of Bread) on the vocals. :)

"Wish I was a Kellogg's Corn Flake Floatin' in my bowl, takin' movies" -- Paul Simon
Anyway, this was the final nail in the coffin for the hipster word "groovy."

Not to be confused with the Simon & Garfunkel hit "59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy)."
