Salmon Fishing to the west out of Sooke BC we encountered a what some might consider a super pod of Orcas or Killer whales sweeping the Juan de Fuca Strait of all of its fish. The whales came from far and wide and converged in a bay close to French Beach, it resembled a seine of Orcas closing up their net. Our estimate of between 80 to 100 whales makes sense as that is a similar number to the entire population of whales in the Puget Sound & Southern Vancouver Island area. The fishing was pretty slow for a few hours but picked up later in the day...
