Just keep in mind that during the tourist season these mentioned places get really, really crowded so, for instance, if you're willing to visit the Alcatraz, you have to bear and cope with the whole crowd surrounding you and it won't be a totally amazing experience, also you might have to wait in line to take a boat to the island. The Fisherman's Wharf area can get really crowded too, although it's still a nice place to visit. Walk up to a pier and watch the scenery, it's really nice.

@electricguitar146 Im telling you man, I used to live there most of my life, I moved away 6 years ago to Ft. Lauderdale FL and I regret it every day. Grass is always greener on the other side, but I prefer my SF grass any time! The sounds, the smells, the people, you can't beat it.

I live Here and I honestly cannot see the appeal. But it's still a great place to visit. If you're visiting around this area, go to Santa Cruz, which is like 2 hours south of sf. Nice beaches, the summer it stays in the mid 70s, the wharf, the boardwalk, and a ton of hippies. It's just a great little by-the-sea town that I've had a ton of great memories in. Or go to capitola which is like 10 min from Santa Cruz, it's smaller, more quiet, but has sea cliffs
