Protests, Resignation After BART Shooting

The Bay Area Rapid Transit police officer who fatally shot an unarmed man on a train platform early New Year's Day has resigned. Protestors filled the streets after Oscar Grant was shot and killed when he was lying face-down on the platform. (Jan. 7)

This is not about black or white...no matter if had done something wrong... There are other means ...this is unacceptable procedure to a defenseless man in custody he possed no danger in order for the bastard cop to shoot him. He should be charged with murder and face death in jail by another big inmate as he found out what he did.

@Raidermista Angel or not, if that is putting yourself in a situation were you can get shot, i feel sorry for Americans. Unfortunate death by cop gun while laying on the ground, does not sound like "land of the free" to me!

@damian246 Was Oscar being out late looking for trouble, especially in this area? Yes.  Unfortunately he ran into the wrong cop who also shouldn't be working in his profession. Oscar was no "angel" and he put himself in the mess he got into. Very unfortunate...

@Raidermista How can you put yourself in harms way when you on the ground? And every Human has a right to stand up for himself, even when cops ask you to do something. If a cop says jump, we dont need to say how high! Cops are no gods and they are not always right. I got some cops as family and even they say alot of their fellow policeman abuse their power. If Oscar had a gun or somekind of weapon it was a different story, but he did not.

@damian246 Unfortunately that comment is true. Oscar did NOT deserve to die and that cop is working in the wrong profession, but people like Oscar need to cooperate and not be out at midnight on BART looking for trouble. He did indeed put himself in harms way.

@justaguyX74NJ were you there? did you see him being any of those things? because it turns out he wasn't any of those. being a good person and behaving appropriately never made anyone safe when it comes to cops. Amadou Diallo was shot 14 times by six cops that fired 41 shots when he was reaching for his wallet to give the cops his ID because he barely spoke any English. He was a 23 Guinean cab driver who had come to America for opportunity and ended up stuffed in a coffin.
